Trimming the tree

Last weekend, we loaded the car; kids warm clothes, chainsaw, grandma and all, and headed up north to cut down our Christmas tree.
This is a tradition that we've carried over from Greg's family.

..."we're kicking off our fun, old fashioned family Christmas
by heading out into the country in the ole front wheel drive sleigh
to embrace the frosty majesty of the winter landscape
and select that most important of Christmas symbols."

..."What we're looking for today is the Page family Christmas tree."

grandma and Emery are on the search.
Afton is making snowballs to eat....

Koa is finding all kinds of "cool" stuff...

Brin is posing for pictures...

...and Emery's just along for the ride :)

It always seems to take forever to find the perfect "Griswold" tree,
But this time we were done by noon.
We cut down our tree, grandma's tree, posed for some pictures, carried it to the road
where what to our wandering eyes did appear all our Newton cousins driving by, looking for their Christmas tree. (on their reindeer)
gotta make it rhyme

When we got home, we decorated the tree....

...while Emery undecorated it.

I guess Christmas tree ornaments taste pretty good. Especially the wood ones.

I had to post this picture, too because
Emery is getting a top tooth and
this is the face that we see all day.
She's just too cute!

Looks wonderful and makes me wish we didn't have our fake tree, but a real one! What great memories!

I love that you go cut down your own tree. I am going to make Brett let us do that next year.
p.s. your kids are so cute!
