Every year my neighbors go to the Mainland for the summer and rent out their house. So this year the Glenn's rented it and we were neighbors for all of June and the 4th of July.
Greg grew up with Beth and they went to South Carlsbad Beach every summer together with their families. Before Greg and I moved here, we went to that beach as well. The only beach my kids knew was South Carlsbad. But this year they skipped Carlsbad and came to our beaches.
The Glenn's are the best example of amazing, involved, dedicated parents. And such good, kind, fun friends. I find myself super lucky to have them as besties!;)

So here is our month of June with the funnest family!
There are a butt load of pictures below (it's a real term- butt load), but I had the hardest time picking just these ones.
They are in no particular order of which place we went to first or last.
Charley Young Beach...
Tavareze Bay...
in the evening for the sunset and turtles.
"Hanging out"
Yes, we have two hammocks hanging in our living room.
Tether ball with the neighborhood keiki.
Sables Beach...
Twin Falls...
Time for some waterfall jumping.
Ainsley wanted to jump off so bad but she was scared. Her dad took her first, but then...

...She braved up and jumped all by herself.
One day, we headed over to Lahaina to play with some friends that were in town at a resort over there. Had to throw in some cannonball pictures.
La Perouse...
This is my favorite hike.
No kids date night...
We had a few of these and I really miss them. We really don't have friends that we just go on a double date with here.
Ok, so we had about a month with half of the Glenn family. They have seven kids that are 13 and younger. They are the easy ones. Haha! But Seriously.
The "teenagers" were coming over for the last couple of weeks. There were three of them and one friend. And Grandma (Beth's mom) came over for those last few weeks, as well.
So, Greg taught Dan how to make leis to greet them at the airport with.
Olowalu...
with the Barrett's and the kayaks.
There is a spot here where small reef sharks hang out and we thought the "teenagers" would like that. Although it's not the best beach.
Koa loves to find these hard thin pieces of sand. This is the largest one he's ever been able to pick up without breaking.
Haleakala...
Greg took Dan and the "teenagers" to bike Skyline trail down the back side of Haleakala.
And in the end only a few crashes and a little blood.
The Cove...
Surf day.
I adore this picture of Caleb and his grandma!

After surfing, we had pizza and stayed out for rollerblading.
There is a rink right on the beach in Keihi and it's free if you have your own skates. It's so fun to go over and skate in the sunset. One of our family's favorite activities.
Oh and of course we had watermelon too!
Just look at those cute faces!
What? only one picture of the skating. I think that I have more video of skating than pictures.
Olivine Pools...
These are in The West Maui mountains. They are large tide pools right by the ocean that you can jump into. It's a nice hike down and up as well with a bit of rock climbing mixed in.
Blowhole...
Around the same West Maui mountain side.
Love this picture!
Corbin found a little hermit crab that he thought was way cooler than the blowhole.
Pulehu Chapel...
This was awesome trying to get a picture of the whole family.
So in pictures, this is what's it's like to try to get a family picture with a large family. Ha!
Don't you just love it? And I have a hard time with just my four kids.
We were there at dusk and the lighting was just beautiful for this picture of Brin. I had to include it.
The Farm...
We have friends that own a farm and Greg helps out and works on it sometimes. So, we thought it'll be fun to take the family over to see all the fruit (& flowers) that are grown on the island.
Taro leaves make great angel wings. Hmm. Who is the angel and who isn't?
And the farm ended with some driving lessons.
Road to Hana...
And it's not a full trip to Maui until you do the road to Hana.
And when you are sight seeing the only way to keep siblings in check is to carry them upside down.
Appropriate, right?!

I just love this lady! and her amazing family! Come back soon please!
