Emery's Baptism (2018)

Emery's Big Day.

My baby, Emery got baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

In our church, we wait until the children are eight years old, so that they can use their free agency and make their own decision to be baptized.
Up to that point, they have been taught and have a pretty good understanding of who God and Jesus Christ are. They have also been taught right from wrong and are now at an age where they can make their own choices.
We had several conversations with Emery so that she knew what she was doing; so that she understood what it meant to be baptized.
I was so happy that Emery choose to follow Jesus Christ's example.
I was so sad that my baby is growing up so fast.

We found a beautiful white dress and headed out to her favorite beach to take some cute photos
She was such a good little model. I just love these pictures.

My fave....just look at that smile!!!

And then there is the tongue... I have way too many of these pictures.

I know that was a boat load of pictures, but I just love them all! I actually made her a little 8x8 book that has all of these cute pictures in it. (but, I need another one for me.)

Emery was baptized on February 10th at 5:00pm at the Pukulani building in upcountry Maui.
She wanted a white dress to be baptized in and so my mom made her a simple little white dress for that.

For refreshments for everyone after the baptism, we just did a simple donut bar and hot chocolate. We made a few little white "eight" donuts in a bag, krispy kreme, and grandma Randee made her famous homemade donuts fresh.
And this is the only picture I got of the spread...:(

We had such a great turnout. I was so grateful for all those that came to support Emery and our family. This picture doesn't include everyone that was there, some snuck out before we took the picture. (Don't we just have the best backdrop?!!)
(Singh, Anderson, Eyre, Kintaro, Bowden, Upfold, Johnny Tanner, Akinaka, Farnsworth, Joy.. pictured...so I don't forget)

Emery and her BFF, Poem Eyre... Po gave Emery the panda bear lei. I'm pretty sure lei's are one of the favorite parts of the event.

Yep, there's those tongues again...

We were all so excited and happy to have grandma Randee come over for the baptism. Grandma gave the talk on the Holy Ghost. She did such a great job and brought in such a special spirit. I think it's so cool that these kids ask their parents, grandparents, teachers, to give talks at their baptisms. It makes it that much more memorable when it's someone that they know and love that is speaking to them.

Our Baby...

My fave family picture...

Emery's other BFF, Kaua... silly girls...

Sometimes I wish we could have a pause button on life because if we could I would pause it right here, right now.
Emery is at this perfect age where she is still so sweet and obedient.
She is not worried about stuff and just wants to have fun.
And she loves me so much and shows me in every way.

Playing with the dress twirl .....

Micheal Singh and Em

It was a great night filled with so much love and aloha.
Emery is on the right path making her first covenant with the Lord.
I'm sure that her testimony will continue to grow as she keeps that baptismal covenant each week with the sacrament.

Love you Emery Sue!
Iokina... God is definitely developing you.
