Mother's Day 2018

Ahh, Mother's Day. A day totally devoted to moms. The kids spoil me with food, and presents, and love.
Some people say that Mother's Day should be everyday, but I do love this one day to really reflect and remember and appreciate.

I started my morning with breakfast in bed. And it's kind of funny because I usually end up going into the kitchen to eat with everyone. This year Afton made me breakfast in bed. Doesn't it look scrumptious?

Then the kids all came in and showered me with presents. Emery made me a sweet card and got me a good smelling candle.

Afton bought me a "mom" necklace.

Koa is so awesome with his hands. He made me this awesome card and he knows my heart, a huge chocolate bar.

Brin gave me a sign that says "mom" in a bunch of different languages.

And Greg got me a watering can...
                          that the kids painted....

And a Bonzi tree with clippers.

At church, the primary kids sang and the young women sang. Afton gave a talk. In my journal I wrote, "She did a great job. She was a little shy and had her head down a lot, but she's growing, still. She shared Quinn's story and said that it was an example of self-less love. She looked so beautiful up there. She's growing into quite a beautiful young lady."

When we got home, we did pictures by the mock orange bush. Our favorite photography spot.

And a few goofy pictures, too.

Me with all my minions....
                    I love them so much....
I am so grateful for these healthy happy minions of mine!!!

Later in the afternoon when we were laying around, Emery came out with some more gifts tat she had made at school.

In art, they were doing pottery. It's a little pond with a bridge. Seeds were planted in it to make some grass grow in it.

Then she read her little card book to me. It was the sweetest thing.

Some more goofy picture...

And Greg is his usual Sunday nap spot.

This is my mom. This picture is from our trip this last Christmas.
In my journal, I wrote a few more thoughts about my mom that I wanted to share.

"I was reflecting a bit on my mother, as well. She truly is an amazing woman. Someone who works so hard and tried her best to be the best mom. And although I didn't always notice it then, I DO notice it now. She sacrificed so much. She put us in 4-H and opened doors of opportunity for us. I am so grateful for all that my mom has taught me without me even realizing it."

" Just one more thought about mother's...
they bring us into this world and show us the simple pleasures of what having a body brings such as sand in our toes, ice cream, running in the grass barefoot, yummy treats, smells of flowers and cookies, just to name a few. And without us kids knowing they sacrifice much to bring doors of opportunity for our physical and spiritual growth. Moms are amazing at giving much with little to nothing to give. Moms are incredible at showing us life and helping us learn and letting us fly out and live on our own.
Mothers are Gods angels in disguise working miracles in the lives of His children."

Happy Mother's Day all the mom's out there. We are doing a great work!
