We had some serious pumpkin carving this year!
It's fun that the kids are getting older and can actually do some of the carving themselves.
When we cut into our first pumpkin this year it was sprouting. I have never seen anything like it before. ( well, actually several Christmas's ago, our tree had new growth at the top see the picture here .) But, sprouting inside the pumpkin...didn't even know that could happen.
Brinlee looks a little scary with that knife....maybe someone should show her how to hold that thing.
Don't worry, we did.
And she cut the mouth out from the inside. This girl's got talent.
Afton and Bin shared a pumpkin because they were a bit pricey here...
$10 each.
Next year we need grow our own.
(and just s you know, all those milk cartons in the background eventually made it to the recycling center. We don't have city service for recycling here like we have in other places that we've lived. So, I like to wait until the bins are overflowing and everyone is tripping on them before I take them in.)
I saw on pinterest a few years ago where they cut the back out a little with the top of the pumpkin and it makes it easier to clean out the inside of the pumpkin. But, we've learned that you can't go down too deep in the back or the lines will show through your face on the front.
Serious concentration going on....
Emery even carved out hers with a little help from mom.
Finished product..
Very nice... I especially like the eyebrows.
Shanagans on Halloween!
Someone brought mustaches to swim team and Coach Rory and Brin were looking very dapper.
Our ward has the best parties for every holiday. So for our Halloween ward party, Greg and I dressed up as........
" Who's the next contestant on the Price Is Right?"
Someones a little bummed they guessed too high.
Oh wait, no he didn't, he won!
After dinner and trunk or treating, the dancing began and we could have stayed there all night.
It was such a fun night. I think that's one of my favorite things about the ward is that they have these parties and dances and give the families an opportunity to get together for good, clean, wholesome fun!
Koa found a HUGE snail!
On Halloween night, we invited our friends to walk the neighborhood with us and they came home with quite the loot.

And that's all they get until next year...
oh wait, I mean the next holiday.
