February Happenings 2018

February was jam packed with events and fun!

The month started with Emery's baptism and Grandma Randee flying over to be here for it.
I posted more about Emery's Baptism back Here and Grandee's time with us back Here.

Then Liz and Brett came to visit. So we had a full week of adventure and touristy things.
I posted more about their trip back Here. Love this sister of mine.

Koa tried his hand at basketball. This was the first time that he has played organized basketball. He did really well and had fun trying a new sport.

His team. Makawao Elementary School with Coach Gardnier and Coach Sishido.

Emery found a little green lizard living in our living room.

His colors were beautiful.

We took some naps in the hammock. I'm sure this picture was from a Sunday afternoon. This is Greg's favorite spot.

Emery, Afton and I went over to Oahu for eye appointments and then out to the temple in Laie.

We had a few rainy day afternoons at the pool. Coach Malcolm got a new umbrella. Haha!!!

Some more basketball...

Afton had a concert at Kalama. It was a fundraiser concert to raise money for a Disneyland trip. Afton was not planning on going on the trip. :(

This is Ms. Adams. She was Brin's media teacher. She was helping with the fundraiser.

Brin loved Ms. Adams.

Mr. U. I need to do a post just about him. He has been teaching Ukulele for a bazillion years. He is so talented and performs by himself still.

Gotcha. She really doesn't like when I take pictures of her. But it's my job as mom. :)

Here is a video clip from another concert that they had at Makawao town 3rd Friday Celebration.

And here is Afton trying her hand at the electric guitar.

For Brinlee's science class they have a project where they make an element from the periodic table. They can make it out out whatever they want, but it has to have the correct amount of protons and neurons, and such. Brin chose the eatable option. It was all homemade. None of it came home.

This is Potassium.

I also, found this sweet letter that Brin wrote to Bonka. She is so thoughtful about doing things like thing. She is so compassionate. It is such a good quality to have.

I also, got this picture in a text.
I was so excited to see it.
Amy was living here in Maui when she first started talking to the missionaries. I actually went on a few of the visits. The first visit was such a surprise, when I walked in to find out that I knew who it was that the missionaries were teaching. Amy was a part of the swim team and I taught her boys how to swim.
It was such a blessing to share my beliefs with her. She chose to be baptized in the summer of 2017 and then her family moved off island. I got a message from her that Ian, her oldest son was getting baptized in November of 2017 and then this month, February, I got this picture. Her husband accepted the gospel and chose to get baptized.
I am so happy for this Ohana. And I'm so glad that they didn't forget about me.

It snowed at Haleakala. There is a lot of snow up there. It was very exciting for us all.

And finally, we were invited by the Barrett's to go out on their boat. It was a new adventure for all of us and an epic whale watch.
I posted more about that back Here.

Phew! That was a long post!
I love, love, love, my crazy busy, Hawaii life.
